  6.        This file provides information  for  Shareware  Distributors
  7.        and  Disk Vendors who wish to distribute    the WinXs 2.0 pack-
  8.        age, including an extract from  the  license  agreement    and
  9.        suggested program descriptions and keywords.

  11.        DISTRIBUTION
  12.  
  13.        The complete license agreement  is  contained  in  the  file
  14.        LICENSE.TXT.

  16.        The following paragraph    is  an    extract     from  the  license
  17.        agreement  regarding  the distribution of the Shareware ver-
  18.        sion of WinXs:
  19.  
  20.       Anyone distributing WinXs for    any  kind  of  remuneration
  21.       must first contact the author    at the address given in    the
  22.       file REGISTER.TXT for    authorization.    This  authorization
  23.       will    be automatically granted to distributors recognized
  24.       by the (ASP) as adhering to its guidelines for  shareware
  25.       distributors,     and  such  distributors may begin offering
  26.       WinXs    immediately  (However  the  author  must  still     be
  27.       advised  so  that  the distributor can be kept up-to-date
  28.       with the latest version of WinXs).

  30.        OBTAINING THE LATEST VERSION
  31.  
  32.        Before distributing WinXs please    verify that  you  have    the
  33.        latest  version.      The  latest  version    of  WinXs is always
  34.        available in the    GO WINSHARE area on CompuServe,    in the fol-
  35.        lowing files:

  38.         winxs32.zip     -  for    Windows    95 and NT

  52.        SUGGESTED DESCRIPTION
  53.  
  54.        WinXs for Windows is a suite of programs    that  brings  Unix-
  55.        style tool functionality    to the Windows platform.  This ver-
  56.        sion of the program runs    on Windows 3.1,    Windows     for  Work-
  57.        groups,    Windows     95  or     Windows  NT,  and it consists of a
  58.        series of 35 popular file  and  text  utility  commands    and
  59.        utility    applets.   Access and implement    them using the menu
  60.        bar in the Windows File Manager,    or the Explorer    and Taskbar
  61.        in  Windows 95/NT.  The distribution includes cat, cmp, col,
  62.        compress, csplit, df, diff, dircmp,  dos2unix,  du,  expand,
  63.        file,  find,  fmr,  fold, grep, hd, head, ls, man, more,    nl,
  64.        pax, pr,    sed, sort, split, strings,  tail,  tr,    uncompress,
  65.        unix2dos, uuencode, uudecode, wc    and others.

  67.        REQUIREMENTS
  68.  
  69.        The 32-bit version requires Windows 95  or  Windows  NT,     at
  70.        least  4mb  of RAM and 3.6mb of disk space.  The    16-bit ver-
  71.        sion requires Windows 3.1  or  Windows  for  Workgroups,     at
  72.        least 4mb of RAM    and 2mb    of disk    space.

  76.        US$18 to    receive    code key and copy of the WinXs User  Refer-
  77.        ence Manual by email (if    possible) or on    floppy disk.
